Welcome to Stonehouse Meadows. We are happy you're here. Please take your time looking around and feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Enjoy your visit!
For over 20 years, we have produced quality sporthorses that are sound of body and mind. We believe that the decision to breed our horses comes with a huge amount of responsibility and do our absolute best, combining our knowledge, experience, and passion with years of hard work, to produce a horse with correct conformation, athletic ability, a wonderful disposition, and physical beauty. We feel these attributes give each individual the best beginning possible for a successful future career and long term physical and mental soundness.
Our horses live in as natural an environment as possible with access to large open spaces, plenty of fresh air, and the mental advantages that come from living within a stable herd. The opportunity to interact with other horses 24/7 and follow the "rules" of their elders and peers makes for a well balanced state of mind. Unlimited opportunity for play and exercise, along with the ability to stretch out and sleep whenever they choose supports development of strong bone and muscle and athletic ability.
While producing exceptional sport horses is our main focus, Jen has a special interest in color genetics and maintains one of the most diverse herds of colored thoroughbreds in the world. We refuse to compromise quality for color and through a unwavering, and sometimes heartbreaking, commitment to excellence are continuing to improve the quality of colored thoroughbreds. Jen also has an enormous love for older, retired brood mares and currently has too many living their lives out here with us where she spends way too much time, way too much energy, and way too much money keeping them happy and healthy. They are her therapy.
Stacey is an equine veterinarian who specializes in equine reproduction. He loves his job! In addition to running his own veterinary practice, Northern Colorado Equine, Stacey is kept busy with his work here as our on-site resident veterinarian and managing his own broodmare herd of western performance horses.
Stonehouse Meadows offers a full range of equine reproductive services including stallion management, reproductive management of mares, artificial insemination, embryo transfer, and foaling services. Rehabilitation and sales preparation are also available.
